Clinic Purpose:

Coaching "up" players using the best Coaches, helps players learn to play their best. This clinic teaches players to play better & improve their skills using the right techniques. Increase your player's knowledge of the game and build their confidence on the court. Taking participants basketball game to “The Next Level”.

 

Clinic Goals:

For pre-High School children learn safe and effective ball-handling and performance drills and so much more, all to help you have fun and enjoy your own performance on the court whether you are playing with your friends at school or in a game in a League or go on to play in High School. 

 

Clinic features:

Length: 2 hours ever Saturday - start up date pending season registration.

Location. Peninsula High School.

Pro-Style Coaching: Learn proper technique focused and sound fundamental’s youth basketball skills.

Experience Matters! Top Class Elite Coaching Staff: Coached EXCLUSIVELY by an ex Professional Basketball Player, ex players from current Division 1 basketball players and professionals. 

Format: Participants are grouped by age and skill level. Each session begins with warm up exercises, then skills training which contains age and skill specific developmental techniques, practical and popular results driven drills, skills and ends with a fun and skills based scrimmage in which players get to practice the skills they learned.

Practice Makes Perfect: Each session includes a fun & exciting scrimmage between players.

Basic Sound Principals of Youth Basketball: Players will improve their game, apply a technically sound set of skills and feel more confident in and around the court, where ever and whenever their journey connects them with basketball.

Head Coach: Moniquee Alexander

A stand out talented basketball player from Harbor City California, Coach Moniquee Alexander attended Narbonne High School before being recruited to play basketball in Bradenton, Florida where her basketball accomplishments earned her a basketball scholarship on the U.C.L.A Bruins Women’s Basketball Team. In 2009 she led the Bruins team with 69 offensive rebounds while earning a BA in Sociology and a spot on the athletic department’s Honor Roll.


After graduating from the Bruins Basketball Team at U.C.L.A Coach Alexander became a professional basketball playing pro basketball overseas in multiple countries including Turkey, Romania, Poland, Ecuador and Thailand and tried out for the Women’s NBA (WNBA) team, the Tulsa Shock in Tulsa, Ok.  Currently the Head Basketball Coach for the Girls Upper School Division Team at Chadwick Academy in Palos Verdes, Coach Alexander has coached Middle School and Upper School girls in basketball at Chadwick for the last five years and coach’s a competitive girls club youth basketball team in the Palos Verdes area.  with a deep commitment to improving the program and inspiring young players to greatness both on and off the court. She is currently in the process of getting her Masters in coaching and sports administration at Concordia University in Irvine.


Head Coach:  Trish Olsen 


Coach Olsen, Head Girls Basketball Coach, PV Hoops a non-profit youth girls competitive basketball team based in Palos Verdes. Coach Olsen has extensive experience as both a Coach and Player with over 8 consecutive years of coaching in the Palos Verdes Basketball Association and 6 of those years as the Commissioner in charge of the Girls Division for the Palos Verdes Basketball Association. Coach Olsen played women’s basketball in College in the University of California, San Diego’s Women’s basketball program lives in Rolling Hills California with her husband and 4 children, two of which are current players in the PVBA.


 

Roman Davis: A 6-foot-7 native of Carson graduated from Windward HS in Los Angeles where he played as a standout small forward that averaged 9.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game as a senior for the Wildcats. Davis appeared in 27 games to help guide Windward to a 22-11 overall record and recorded the game-winning bucket in the final seconds in back-to-back games for the Wildcats during January of his senior season was selected to the 2015 Division 5AA All-California Interscholastic Federation Boys Basketball Team, as voted by the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.

After High School Davis became a Cal Golden Bear player as a Forward on the Men’s Basketball team joining the University of California at Berkley majoring in Legal Studies. Davis is currently a Senior. As a Golden Bear Sophomore, he recorded his first collegiate block at UCLA, and added 4 rebounds…Connected on his first career three-pointer and tallied a then-career-high 5 points at USC…First collegiate assist came against UC Riverside High School.  In his junior year on the team, Davis’s basketball career highlights include in 16 games this season, he totaled 21 points and shot 28 percent from the field and 27 percent from the free-throw line. He earned his first career start at Washington, tallying a season-high 5 points alongside 5 rebounds…Pulled down a career-high 7 rebounds at Washington State…Scored his first points of the season at Fresno State and added a season-high 4 rebounds…Grabbed 2 rebounds against USF…Season debut came against Hampton, where he pulled down 2 boards…Did not make the trip to Shanghai, China for the Pac-12 China Game while waiting for an NCAA waiver to clear



Chelsea Park is from Long Beach, California was signed by Park University out of Rancho Dominquez Preparatory School in Long Beach, California in 2015 as a forward.  Park University’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Kenneth Cooper signed 6'3 small forward Chelsea Phillips out of Rancho Dominguez Preparatory School declaring "Chelsea is a great addition to the Park family," said Cooper. "At 6'3 she is very versatile with the ability to take you off the dribble and step out and knock down the three ball. A long athletic kid that will bring a presence on the defensive end of the court and will create mismatches on the offensive end.” Phillips averaged 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. And, in 2015 she was named first-team all-league for the third time.
